Gradings – Qwan Ki Do Association
In the Qwan Ki Do Association, gradings are an important milestone in every martial artist’s journey. They represent the student’s progress, dedication, and mastery of techniques, as well as their growth in discipline, respect, and mental strength.
Our grading system follows an internationally recognized belt and rank structure, ensuring that every achievement reflects true skill and effort.
Purpose of Gradings
- ✅ To assess technical proficiency, physical fitness, and understanding of Qwan Ki Do principles
- ✅ To motivate students by setting clear goals and milestones
- ✅ To uphold uniform standards across all affiliated centers and instructors
Belt & Rank Structure
Kyu/Dang (Student Levels)
- White Belt – Beginner level, learning basic stances, punches, and kicks
- Yellow Belt – Foundation skills and introductory self-defense techniques
- Orange Belt – Improved coordination, balance, and movement flow
- Green Belt – Intermediate techniques, blocks, and combinations
- Blue Belt – Advanced footwork, counters, and sparring skills
Dan (Black Belt Levels)
- 1st Dan – Assistant Instructor level
- 2nd Dan & above – Senior Instructor & Master ranks, awarded for advanced skills, teaching ability, and contribution to the art
Grading Process
Training Completion
Students must complete required training hours and syllabus for their level.
Assessment
Conducted by certified examiners of the Qwan Ki Do Association.
Certification
Successful candidates receive an official belt, rank certificate, and recognition.
Evaluation Criteria
Technique accuracy, strength, control, discipline, and theory knowledge.
